How we research

We do not own the printers on this site.

That is an unusual thing for a review site to say out loud, so here is exactly what we do instead, and what our pages are worth to you because of it.

What we do

  • Read the manufacturer's own specifications and product documentation.
  • Check those specs against what owners report in forums and verified buyer reviews.
  • Say so plainly when the two disagree. That gap is usually the most useful part of a review.
  • Compare machines on the numbers that decide a purchase: build volume, technology, materials, enclosure, bed, and running cost.
  • Update a page when a machine is discontinued or superseded, or when enough owners report the same fault to make it a pattern rather than bad luck.

What we do not do

  • Test printers ourselves. There is no workshop behind this site, no test bench, and no calibration cubes of our own.
  • Publish a score we cannot defend. Where a page reads "Score pending review", that is deliberate, not an oversight.
  • Invent FAQs. If a page has no questions section, it is because we have not gathered real ones for that machine yet.
  • Take payment for a favorable write up. No manufacturer sees or approves anything before it goes live.

Where the information comes from

  • Manufacturer specification sheets and product documentation.
  • Owner reports from community forums and verified buyer reviews.
  • Published teardowns and testing by outlets that do own the hardware, credited on the page where we draw on them.
  • Retailer listings, for current pricing and availability.

Where a specific claim rests on one source, we name that source on the page it appears on.

You can see how this plays out in our 3D printer reviews, which are grouped by brand: Elegoo, Creality, Snapmaker and Anycubic.

Why we bother saying this

Most sites in this category do not test the printers they review either. Very few admit it. We would rather you knew what you were reading, decided for yourself how much weight to give it, and came back because the information held up.

How we make money. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission. It never adds anything to your price, and it never decides what we recommend or how we rate a machine.

If we got something wrong. We would rather be corrected than be confidently wrong. If you own one of these machines and our page does not match your experience, tell us and we will fix it.
