Flashforge produces both entry-level and industry-grade 3D printers, and the Adventurer 3 is aimed at buyers who want to pursue 3D printing as a hobby or build a classroom experience around a printer. It's part of the wider Adventurer series, designed around cost-effectiveness, ease of use, and reliable print quality — and it's one of Flashforge's most popular products, with more than 20,000 units in homes around the world.
The upgraded nozzle is advertised to reach up to 200°C in just 50 seconds.
At around $500 (sometimes found for as little as $350), the Adventurer 3 includes features cheaper printers skip, like an automatic filament feeding system that speeds up spool changes, cuts down on air bubbles in prints, and helps avoid jamming or clogging during extrusion.

Design
The printer is fairly low-key in design, a good fit for schools or offices. The closed build space and various internal fans keep it running without too much noise. Versatility is a key feature: an interchangeable nozzle assembly lets you swap parts easily, built-in LED lights and a camera give good visibility into the print in progress, and a flexible build plate helps release finished prints. The touchscreen interface is clean and intuitive for students and hobbyists alike.
How Does It Print?
Printing from a USB stick works, but the built-in Wi-Fi and cloud features are the better option — setup is easy, and the FlashPrint slicer connects well before printing. One common issue is layer shifting, likely down to FlashPrint's more limited settings compared to Slic3r or Cura, and the Adventurer 3's non-standard G-code makes swapping to those slicers difficult. Polar Cloud is a workaround worth checking out, and enabling Z-hop can fix layer shifting once you find it. There's no leveling sensor or manual bed leveling option, but the single-point height calibration function holds up reasonably well for a budget machine. Finished prints come off a Build-Tak–like flexible plate fairly easily.
Upgraded Nozzle
The newly upgraded nozzle enables stable filament loading and is advertised to reach up to 200°C in just 50 seconds — a genuinely impressive number worth weighing when deciding on this machine. A turbofan and air guide help overall print quality, and a buckle release lets you remove the nozzle without dismantling the whole setup.
Special Print Bed Design
The print bed uses what Flashforge calls a “shape-memory material,” making it bendable so prints detach easily — backed, according to Flashforge, by 400 hours of bending tests during development.
Built-in Filament Cartridge
A built-in filament cartridge detects and automatically feeds material into the printer. Printing stays quiet at around 45dB, and a built-in 2-megapixel HD camera lets you monitor prints remotely through various cloud apps — the image quality is a little lacking, but roughly what you'd expect at this price point.
3D Cloud Platform
Flashforge's 3D Cloud platform covers what you'd expect from decent cloud software: free file storage, backup and sharing, file slicing, and access to a free model database, all from one place where you can manage every Flashforge machine you own.
